The Herno story

Herno, a specialist in top-design outerwear, was founded in 1948 through Giuseppe Marenzi's commercial intuition and his wife Alessandra's technical expertise. Emotionally and closely connected to its territory, Herno takes its name from the river Erno, which flows into Lake Maggiore, and from the product most associated with that area since 1948: the raincoat.

The H in Herno harmonises the name and gives it an international character. With the second generation represented by Claudio Marenzi, the company's 60-year history is enriched by the same awareness of values that defines its philosophy and success.

Herno outerwear is characterised by an understated, unconventional style serving product functionality, an obsession with detail and wearability, passion and innovation, research combined with the ethics of expertise, and respect for people and the environment.

This is the Herno philosophy, giving substance and form to Italian excellence.
